Here's a cookie recipe that surprises you with that first bite. You think it's going to be an ordinary chocolate cookie, but wait, it's so much better! It's a rich, softer, luscious chocolate cookie that has you looking for reasons to go back to the cookie jar;) It's one of my favorites - can you tell? It's easy and quick to make, nothing fancy in the ingredients - just the secret part of the recipe - cream cheese. The cream cheese doesn't really factor into the taste, it just gives the cookie a nice softness. If you want to dress these up a bit, drizzle some chocolate over the top after they're baked but you don't need to - they're good on their own and p.s. they're good right out of the freezer too. (Yes, I put them in the freezer so I won't eat them all, but, I just eat them frozen, so who's winning here - lol)
So... let's get baking!
Choco-Cream Cheese Cookie
Beat until fluffy
1 pkg cream cheese (room temp)
1/2 c. butter (room temp)
Add in
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sugar
Melt 1 c. mini chocolate chips and stir until smooth
Add the melted chocolate chips into the cream cheese batter.
Add into your batter
2 1/4 c. flour (spooned into measuring cup)
1 1/2 tsp. b. soda
Mix in mini chocolate chips - about 1 - 1/2 cups.
Drop onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake for about 8-10 minutes, until cookie looks set in the middle.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
Enjoy!
