This is a recipe that I've had for a really long time. It's a standby recipe that I know never fails to make people happy, is easy to put together, and well, it's just good! The cake itself is moist - thank you sour cream, the crumble is delish - kind of the star of the show and the fact that it's not your usual coffee cake is a bonus. Oh I did I mention chocolate? Winner, winner for me!

Let's get to the recipe . . .

Chocolate Crumble Coffee Cake

In your mixing bowl, beat together until mixed
1/2 c. softened butter or margarine
1 c. sugar

Mix in
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Slowly add in and mix together
2 c. flour
1 tsp. b. powder
1 tsp. b. soda
1 c. sour cream

Stir in
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Spread into a greased 9x 13 pan (or you can line you pan with parchment paper if you're wanting to cut the cake into squares and serve on a plate - just makes for easier removal of the cake)

*Topping
Mix together until crumbly
1/2 c. b. sugar
1/2 c. flour
2 generous tsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter or margarine

Stir in 1/2 c. chocolate chips.

*I really like the crumble on this, so I double the topping recipe - it's good without, but if you like the crumble bit on things - go for it and double the recipe!

Bake at 350 for about 35-45 minutes, until your toothpick comes out clean.

Enjoy!
