This recipe is really just permission to make something easy, enjoy it to the fullest and let it bring back memories of being a kid! I'm sure everyone has a recipe for this but here's one that uses 2 kinds of sugar and corn syrup. I've made this quite a few times in the last week and not sure what happens, but it disappears every time - hmmm. So, make it, enjoy it, share it - or not, but take a minute for yourself and really enjoy this puffed wheat cake!
Puffed Wheat Cake
In a medium sized saucepan add
1/2 c. butter
1 c. corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. b. sugar
6 generous tbsp. cocoa
Bring to a boil. Stir for 2 minutes while the mixture is at a low boilRemove from heat and stir in
1 tsp. vanilla
Pour over
10 c. puffed wheat
Mix well and press into a 9x12 greased pan.
