Starting to plan your Easter menu? For me, dessert is always the fun part - that and setting my table. The rest, well, not much change up in the Easter dinner - turkey, potatoes, sides, salad and bread - it's all really good, but dessert is a creative exercise for me. This dessert (which I may have shared already, so sorry if this a repeat for you) is the hands down, fan favorite in our house. It is good anytime of the year, you can make it ahead and freeze it, it's light and fluffy and it hits all the high notes! If you haven't tried it, you really must.
Let's get to the recipe. . .
Bottom layer Mix together and press into a 9"x12" baking dish 2 1/2 c. oreo crumbs 1/2 c. butter Pop this into the freezer for about 1/2 hour (this makes spreading the next layer so much easier)
2nd layer Beat together 8 oz cream cheese (room temp) 1 c. icing sugar Spread over oreo crumbs
3rd layer Top with 1/2 container of Cool Whip Topping
4th layer Mix together until smoothish (this sets quickly so don't spend too much time stirring this) 1 small package vanilla pudding 1 small package chocolate pudding 3 cups milk
5th layer *Make sure your pudding layer is set Top with the rest of the cool whip
Final touch - optional grate a dairy milk bar and sprinkle over the top (use as much or as little as you like) *broken mini eggs or skor bits are also delish!
