This recipe just says 'summer'. Ice Cream desserts are such an easy thing to have waiting in your freezer for spur of the moment parties, Sunday dinners or just afternoon snacks. I made this one because of the base. Did you know there are now gluten free Oreos! And they taste so close to the regular, no one will every know. So, if you think you might need a dessert for a summer party - you're welcome;) Everyone will love this one!

Oreo Cookie Ice Cream Dessert
Base 1 package Oreo* cookies, crushed (use your food processor to make this into crumbs) 1/4 c. butter - melted Mix together and press into the bottom of a greased 12"x9" pan (or close to that size) Pop it into the freezer to set.
When you're base is frozen Scoop your favorite softened vanilla ice cream on top (you need about 2 litres) Using the back of a spoon, press down and smooth out.
Cover with hot fudge (recipe below)
Spread 1 carton of cool whip over the hot fudge.
Freeze until set.
*use gluten free Oreos if needed
Hot Fudge Recipe Melt together and stir until smooth 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
